Tip 23:
Sometimes It’s All in the Family
Keep the importance of the clinician’s marital and family status in mind when developing your recruitment strategies, and tailor the information that you provide to them:
+ Single clinicians are looking for social prospects. Think of activities, programs, and events in your community that will help them make connections.
+ Married clinicians are concerned with things like career prospects for their spouse and the local housing market. Have this information prepared ahead of time to give to them.
+ Clinicians with children want to know about the quality of schools in your area, the safety of the community, parks, community centers, and day care tips. Find out, and develop a list of resources to help them.

Chart Note
+
Identify someone on your staff or in the community who is a peer of your candidate and have them available to provide an "insider’s view" into what your community has to offer.
|
Healthy Move
+
Promote community pride—get statistics to back up your winning qualities, e.g., low crime rate, great weather, public transportation, etc. Consult Epodunk (http://www.epodunk.com/) for the by–the–numbers look at your community.
