- NATIONAL LUPUS AWARENESS MONTH
October marks the 25th anniversary of the Lupus Foundation of America’s campaign to promote lupus awareness via National Lupus Awareness Month. Lupus is a potentially life-threatening chronic inflammatory disease that can affect various parts of the body, especially the skin, joints, blood, and kidneys.

- THIS MONTH IN FRONT LINES
Described by her friends and peers as "Mother Theresa and Rambo wrapped into one,” Joanne Cochran has undertaken a one-woman campaign to bring affordable, comprehensive health care to underserved people in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. Cochran heads the Keystone Health Center, which she aligned with the NHSC as a way to build a bridge to providing high quality health care services.
