- HEALTHY BODIES, HEALTHY SOULS
Healthy Bodies, Healthy Souls is a faith-based initiative created by a network of community health centers in Florida, Delaware, Utah, and New Mexico—Health Choice Network—to help reduce health disparities. Through activities such as community health fairs, youth group programs, and Healthy Sunday screening events, the network partners with churches to improve its reach into local communities.

- AMBASSADOR BLENDS MINORITY ENROLLMENT WITH NHSC MISSION
As program director of the San Joaquin Valley College Primary Care Physician Assistant Program, Les Howard sees himself passing on the values that have fueled his own remarkable life. One of his allies—in the task of sending the best and brightest of his graduates to care for California’s underserved—is the NHSC.

- EYE INJURY PREVENTION MONTH
Extraordinary eye damage is often caused by very ordinary activities—the rallying cry of July’s Eye Injury Prevention Month. More than 1 million people suffer from eye injuries every year, according to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and 90 percent of those injuries are preventable with the use of proper protective eyewear.

- THE ROBERT WOOD JOHNSON COMMUNITY HEALTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
The Robert Wood Johnson Community Health Leadership Program will award 10 people who have created or significantly improved programs that expand access to health care and social services in underserved and isolated populations across the United States.
