If you meet the eligibility requirements and are dedicated to working in an underserved area, we encourage you to apply to the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program.
Because the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has provided $200 million to fund new loan repayments, the NHSC will make awards to eligible applicants on a first come, first served basis until funds are expended or July 29, 2010, whichever comes first.
Eligible applicants will be funded regardless of the Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) score of the approved site. Under the Recovery Act, sites with lower Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) scores are eligible and sites can list more vacancies.
If you are selected to receive the National Health Service Corps Scholarship, you will be notified by e-mail or postal letter as soon as your application is reviewed, usually within eight weeks of submission of the complete application package (on-line application, supplemental forms and documentation).
